IN response to Mrs P Partington's letter "Women should be at home" - hello! Reality check!!
I am a hard-working single parent, and selfish I am not. As much as I, along with other mums, would love to stay at home and keep house, I am unable to do so. Many mums do not receive any financial support from the fathers of their children.
I work so I am able to keep a roof over my child's head, and run a car that takes her to a good school and myself to my job, so I can put clothes on her back and food on the table - not to buy the latest computer or take expensive holidays abroad.
The majority of working mothers have to go to work in order to survive independently, instead of relying on the state.
I am wonder whether any of her eight hard-working grown-up children share her views. For the sake of her grandchildren, I hope not.
