While Mrs P Partington is entitled to her views, as a working non-mother, I must disagree with her that women staying at home will stop the increase in yobs.
The yob culture has not come about due to women going off to work. No, it is bad parenting through and through.
It is easy for people today to have babies and not have to work. It's a case of "Oh! You're 16? You're pregnant after a one-night stand with a lad you'll never hear from? Have a council house! And we'll throw in some benefits too!"
While babies are being born in the knowledge that having more children equates to getting more in benefits, the whole idea of parenting goes out of the window.
Why should they bother teaching their child what's right and what's wrong when they are rewarded for being irresponsible?
Please do not blame working mothers for the decline in the moral standards off children. Blame the careless and couldn't-care-less.
