CHORLEY folk are being invited to a day of interactive health workshops.
Chorley and South Ribble Primary Care Trust is holding the event at the Woodlands Conference Centre, Southport Road, on Monday, July 12, allowing members of the public to drop in and take part.
The interactive sessions will cover topics such as tobacco, mental health, infection control, physical activity, healthy eating, sexual health, alcohol and local health inequalities.
The conference is split into two different sessions, the first from 2pm to 5pm and the second 5pm to 8pm.
Each interactive session will cover what has been included in the Government's Choosing Health White Paper, which sets out priorities for health improvement over the next 10 years.
There will be a practical and interactive activity based upon the topic area. Each workshop will run for about 20 minutes be on a drop in basis.
Liz Easterbrook, partnerships co-ordinator at the PCT, said: "It is important that we put this key national policy document into practice locally and involve and inform our communities what it all means.
"For example, what is healthy eating and what level of physical activity do I need to do to stay healthy? We are hopeful that people will come along, learn and join in with the sessions."
