THE Thomson Cardiff Devils have announced the signing of 18 year old forward Mark Richardson.
Devils Coach Ed Patterson said of Richardsons signing: "He will have a huge impact on our third line. Hes 6ft and weighs in at 185lb so he has some size. He can skate really well and has great hockey sense. He is young so he is only going to get better."
Richardson had spent the past two seasons in the BNL with the Bracknell Bees. Last season saw him step up and score 21 goals and 29 assists in 62 games. Playing for the Bees alongside former Devils favourites Dwight Parrish and Stevie Lyle, Richardson also played a part in ensuring the Bees were crowned BNL League Champions last season
This promising young Brit who has the ability to play in all types of different situations, both physical and offensive also has much experience at an international level having played at both under 18 and under 20 levels as well as receiving a call up to the senior GB squad in March 2005.
A club spokesman added: "The signing of this much sought after young Brit demonstrates the excellent reputation of the Devils Junior Development programme and highlights its commitment to nurturing and developing young British talent."
