STRIKER Colin Kazim-Richards, who turned down a new contract offer from Shakers, has signed for Brighton.
Kazim-Richards' move has been funded by a Seagulls fan winning Coca Cola's £250,000 Win A Player competition.
The 19-year-old has signed a three-year deal with Brighton after turning down the offer of a two-year contract at Gigg Lane.
The clubs have agreed a "six-figure" compensation package, part of which will depend on appearances, according to Albion chairman Dick Knight.
Seagulls boss Mark McGhee said: "Since it was announced that we had won the money, I had been determined that the money should be invested and not spent without any return.
"I think Colin represents exactly that: an investment. Colin is a player for the future of this club and hopefully we will benefit from this signing in the long term."
