HARRY Potter fans are in for a wizard time at a spooky event at historic Hall i'th' Wood.
An evening of magic, owls and entertainment has been planned for July 15 - running until after midnight, just in time for Potter fans to buy the new book Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Young Muggles (non-wizards) from across the borough have already made the £3 entry the hottest ticket in town, as almost all the 100 or so issued by organisers Bolton Libraries, Hall i'th' Wood Museum and East Bolton Regeneration have already disappeared.
The event in the hall, which dates back to the 15th century and was once the home of inventor Samuel Crompton, is open to children aged eight and older as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. It starts at 9.30pm and finishes after midnight to allow copies of the embargoed book to be available for sale by Bolton town centre bookshop Sweetens at the event.
Plenty of Harrys, Rons and Hermiones are expected, not to mention Voldemorts and Professor Dumbledores, as youngsters are being encouraged to dress up.
There will be five live owls visiting from a birds of prey rehabilitation centre in Lancaster, a magician, and a quiz machine complete with special Harry Potter questions.
To apply for the few remaining tickets, adults must contact Castle Hill Library or Hall th Wood Museum.
