I agree with Cllr Carl Dennis's objections to the Vodaphone mast to be erected within the Farnworth area.
I recently sat in on a Neighbourhood Planning Meeting, Breightmet North, as an observer.
One of the issues on the agenda was 02's proposal to erect a 15m mast on Kentmore Road in the Breightmet estate. The site is at ground level, surrounded by council properties, shops and a nearby school (Withins).
I was alarmed at how quickly this issue was dealt with and passed at the meeting.
No meaningful questions were asked, such as about pollution levels, and whether 02 could prove there was no danger to public health. No clear information was given regarding the mast beforehand.
I recently made my feelings clear towards the council, saying that I oppose this matter and how it was dealt with within the Neighbourhood Planning Meeting.
Until safety checks have been implemented, and proof and clear information given to all residents within the surrounding area, this mast should not be erected.
