A WATCHFUL eye in the sky will be looking out for schools in parts of Bolton this summer.
The Lancashire Constabulary Air Support Unit is supporting police patrols throughout the county, which covers areas north of Bolton, by providing additional checks on schools during the summer holidays.
The initiative, known as Operation Caretaker, started this week and has been very successful in previous years. It is intended to curb the number of crimes committed on school premises such as vandalism, criminal damage, burglary and arson.
The operation will also target anti-social behaviour by groups of children and young people gathering in school grounds.
