CYCLISTS from Bolton Lads and Girls Club have travelled 150 miles in a challenge to raise funds for the club.
Around 35 people took part in the challenge and raised around £8,500 through sponsorship.
The group cycled 75 miles from the club to Chester on Saturday, and cycled back to Bolton to complete the challenge on Sunday.
The cyclists are all associated with the club in some way, and ranged from the clubs chief executive Jerry Glover, to teenage members. Mr Glover said: "We all had a fantastic weekend and everyone came back with a real sense of achievement.
"A lot of people hadn't cycled for years, and so for them to do 150 miles in one weekend was brilliant."
The money raised by the third annual cycle challenge will be spent on developing the club's mentoring scheme, which helps young people with personal problems.
Mr Glover said: "We have about 100 youngsters in our mentoring scheme now, and it's become a really successful project.
"Young people with personal problems are given a mentor to help them for a year and get their lives back on track. Its really making a difference."
