EMERGING table tennis talent Callan Tollady got his county representitive career off to a smashing start.
The 15-year-old starred for Lancashire in a five-county tournament in Derbyshire.
The Smithills School pupil marked his debut with five wins out of six games which proved the best return by any of the Lancashire cadet players.
Callan, who lives in Smithills and plays in the Premier Division of the Bury Table Tennis League for Hilton Bury, almost made it a clean sweep of wins in the county championships in which Lancashire competed against Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Suffolk and Derbyshire.
His only defeat was against the Lincolnshire number one, who is ranked seventh in England at the cadet age group, in a thrilling match which went to 12-10 in the fifth and deciding set.
