THE fit and adventurous in Bolton can take on a Middle East challenge in aid of the Marie Curie Nurses Appeal.
The Tri-Jordan challenge gives fundraisers the chance to trek, cycle or horse ride across Jordan, with the three routes meeting in the ancient city of Petra. It will take place in October and November, but anyone who takes part from Bolton, and submits sponsorship money by the end of June, will contribute to the local campaign.
The appeal, which is being supported by The Bolton News, aims to raise £200,000 in a year to fund more free home nursing care for local terminally ill people.
Anne-Marie Wynne, community fundraiser, said: “We are really excited about Tri-Jordan — we believe it really does offer the experience of a lifetime, culminating with exploring the fascinating city of Petra.”
To find out more go to the Marie Curie’s event information evening at The Britannia Hotel, Beaumont Road, Hunger Hill, on February 24 at 7.30pm.
