CAPITAL Catering remain top of Section A of the Farnworth Rounders League following their win over Elton Vale B, but trailed by eight runs at 76-68 on the first innings.
They raised their game in the second innings, scoring 94 and dismissing Elton for 50 for a relatively comfortable 36-run victory.
Elton Vale A’s scheduled opponents BYP A could not raise a team and conceded. However, Elton played The Grapes A and won by 18 runs after leading by 30 on the first innings.
By picking up four points on the day, Elton A are joint leaders, but have played one more game.
Wally’s Eleven sit third with games in hand and could go above the top pair. Their match against The New Inn ended in a comfortable 31-run victory after winning both innings.
Section B leaders BYP Ladies B enjoyed a comfortable win over AJs who are joint second with CRS and Hulton Lane Ladies, but CRS, who beat yet-to-win Aura Ladies, have a game in hand on the other two.
Blades Barbers crushed Rupert Ladies C by 88 runs to join them on four points although they have played six matches, one more than Rupert.
