IN the top-of-the-table clash between Hilton Tameside and Premier Division leaders Ramsbottom A, the Rammy side came away with a decisive 7-2 victory.
Jake Shaw recorded the two wins for Tameside, beating Mick Moir and Mark Ramsbottom, leaving Andy Jackson unbeaten for Ramsbottom. The defeat drops Tameside to third place in the table, while Ramsbottom B move up to second on the strength of their 7-2 win against a two man Radcliffe CC.
Radcliffe had previously beaten Little Lever A 6-3 which featured a treble by Nigel Hallows, and Barry Elliott scored three wins for Wharton who won 6-3 at Ramsbottom C. Lyndsey Reynolds scored her usual three wins for Burning Desire, but her team went down 5-4 to visitors St Catherine’s A.
Heaton A have opened up a nine-point lead over St Catherine’s B at the top of Division One. They beat Ramsbottom C 7-2 with three wins by Paul Ward, and two each from Steve Barber and Matt Ward. St Cath’s also scored a 6-3 win over Heaton B which featured trebles by Kristof Pinter and Paul Brandwood.
Nomads A in third spot scraped home 5-4 against Ladybridge A, whose Dave Bolton was unbeaten. Hilton B suffered a 6-3 defeat at Heaton C and followed with a 7-2 win over Heaton B.
All three Heaton C players, Dave Scowcroft, Adey Denson and Alan Ingerson scored two wins, while Dave Andrews and Alan Cowley trebled for Hilton in the second match.
Heaton C followed with a 7-2 victory over Meadow Bank which included trebles by Adey Denson and Dave Scowcroft.
The 7-2 win by Little Lever C over Wingates included three wins each by John Hutchinson and Chris Sutcliffe.
Grubba Fans now share top spot in Division Two with Nomads B after a 5-4 win at Meadow Hill, followed by a 5-4 defeat at BEN A.
At Meadow Hill ,Lukasz Serdiuk won three and Marek Maraszkiewicz two, with Phil Noden winning two, and Steve Jones and Mick Kitchen claiming one each for the losers.
For BEN John Dodd and Phil Calvert each won two, and Mike Heaton one, with Marek unbeaten for Grubba.
Nomads ran out 8-1 winners against Heaton F with trebles by Gareth Palmer and Dave Holden and a brace from Martin Howarth.
Heaton D, in third place five points behind the two leading teams, scored maximum points against Hilton D.
Jim Hewitt and Bob Bent both trebled for Coburg who beat Hilton C 6-3, as did Stephen Ross and Matthew Fields for Hilton E, who won 7-2 at Meadow Hill.
A Brian Greenhalgh treble was the feature of Ladybridge B’s 6-3 victory over Heaton E as was the three wins by Rene Seidal for Farnworth TTC A, who won at Little Lever D by the same score.
St Catherine’s D look invincible at the top of Division Three. They maintained their unbeaten record with a 6-3 win over second-place Hilton G.
In what was their closest result to date, Ben Dudley scored three wins, Stuart McCaig two and Debbie Wilson one for St Cath’s. Jim Eardley won two and Jean Smart one for Hilton.
David Yates trebled for Irlam, as did Alan Hibbert for BEN B but their teams lost 5-4 to Meadow Hill B and Hilton H respectively. The St Catherine’s E trio of Roy Alty, Paul Spencer and Beth Farnsworth came away with maximum points from St Paul’s Peel. John Kofi, John Rothwell and John Ainley all won two for Farnworth SC who beat Ladybridge C 6-3.
Farnworth TTC B moved to the top of Division Four after their 6-3 victory over Lads Club A but, the result of the Hilton I match who shared top spot with them last week has not been received. Matthew Leach, Nathan Patel and Same Evans all won two for Farmworth with Craig Duncan unbeaten for the Lads Club.
