YOUNGSTERS at Christ Church, in Heaton, did their bit to help others less well off than themselves by donating gifts to The Bolton News and Bolton Lions’ Caring Christmas appeal.

The appeal means that poor families across Bolton can provide their children with Christmas gifts that they could otherwise simply not afford.

For many, Christmas means making a choice between putting food on the table or providing presents for the little ones.

But for 27 years The Bolton News and the Lions have been helping make Christmas merry, not miserable. We help families with children from birth to 18 years and are always extremely grateful for donations of gifts for older teenagers.

All presents donated to the appeal are taken to the factory unit used by Lions members where they are sorted in to age groups ready to be placed in individual sacks.

The Lions also go out and buy gifts and toys with money donated by you.

It is a very busy time for the charity workers who work tirelessly to ensure Christmas will be a happy time for poor families throughout the Bolton area.

Any donation, however small, is much appreciated.
