PETER Kay came face-to-face with the Queen — after making a joke about her putting out her wheelie bin.
The Bolton comedian welcomed Her Majesty to Blackpool where he was hosting the Royal Variety Show, declaring it “the entertainment capital of the world”.
He said his nan was sitting near the monarch and they would be “swapping fudge by the interval”. “She might be in her 80s but she still pulls her wheelie bin out every Tuesday night. I just wish my nanna would,” he joked.
But the Queen showed no signs of being offended when she met Peter after the show and shook his hand. The performance will be aired on Wednesday, December 16 on ITV1 from 7.30pm.
