ONE resident from Hunger Hill was so annoyed that bin men kept missing her part of the street that she set up a road block on Monday morning and demanded answers.
Joyce Horton, who lives in Lock Lane, says the bin wagon drives down her road and past her house twice on a Monday — her designated bin day — but only to get to and from a neighbouring cul-de-sac.
Her husband, Harold, told the meeting: “My wife blocked the bin wagon in and demanded that the bin men tell her why we kept getting missed.
“They said that because we weren’t on the map they were given they could not collect the bins. It seems ridiculous.”
After the meeting, Malcolm Cox, the council’s director of environmental services, took details of complaints from residents and bin men and vowed to investigate the problems.
