SWINE flu cases are continuing to rise in the region, according to NHS North West.
There has been an increase for the fourth week running. On October 7, 1,501 anti-virals were collected, up from 1,306 on September 29.
The new figures come as statistics from Bolton’s primary care trust show a fall in the number of people prescribed anti-virals.
NHS Bolton revealed on Monday that 277 people were issued medication for the week ending Sunday, down from 293 the week before.
People who think they have swine flu should stay at home and not go to their GP or hospital.
They can contact the National Pandemic Flu Service online at direct.gov.uk/pandemicflu or call 0800 1 513 513 for information or 0800 1 513 100 for treatment.
Some of the symptoms of swine flu are the sudden onset of a high temperature of 38 degrees or above and two or more of the following: cough or shortness of breath, headache, sore throat, tiredness, aching muscles, chills, sneezing, runny nose or a loss of appetite.
