The shoe boot, or the shoob, is the hottest heel on the high street this autumn/winter and in the second instalment of our three part preview we’ve picked the cream of the crop in the shoe department.
River Island has picked a purple palette this year, as have many retailers, with suede featuring heavily on the floor show.
Cutaway boots are going to be massive and these versions at the store are no exception. Coming in at £85 they are slightly pricey but will certainly make a statement.
Wear, as model does, with funky prom skirt at £29.99, boxy jumper at £39.99 and a bit of golden bling with the bag at £29.99. Cutaways are not the most practical on the shoe spectrum so just team with tights to stop you feeling cold.
If the ankle attire isn’t for you then go for these more understated boots for £74.99.
And, if you want to get even more practical then these studded platform boots will see you all through winter, with a cheeky hint of purple inside. You’ll have to fork out £90 but they will keep you warm.
Cutaways feature heavily in Faith’s 2009 collection. Go for suede peeptoes at £80
or these leather, pointed-toe, platform, shoe boot in gorgeous duck egg blue. The lace ups add a further dimension — 21st century/Victoriana style. Coming in at £85, you’ll need the cash to splash to go for that colour. Go for the grey or purple versions if you want muted or more daring styles. Form an orderly queue as these are due in store at the end of September.
If you prefer a full boot then go for these ‘Madonna Like a Virgin-esque’ ones from Dorothy Perkins.
You’ll only pay £42 for these beauties, which is much cheaper than the other shoes on offer. They are the wear with anything boot which will keep you on top of the trend without tripping up weather-wise — cutouts really will make your granny say, “you’ll catch your death in those”.
For the bargain hunter out there who wants to defy the cold and be the ultimate fashionista go for these blue shoobs from Primark coming in at £17.
Last but not least, make like Elvis and get on your blue suede shoes. These boots are more practical as they will keep ankles and toes warm, and the concealed platform makes them easier to walk in, in the snow.
Coming in at £79.99 from Schuh you need to be quick and grab them before they are sold out, as they have been in the shops all year — perhaps the designers had little faith in the great British summer.
