Coronation Street and Hollyoaks stars, as well as Happy Mondays’ Bez turned up to take a sip of the new drink in the Second Floor Restaurant at Harvey Nichols in association with OK! Magazine last Wednesday.
The girls from Hollyoaks strut their stuff.
The cocktail, containing gin, Maraschino, Vimto, lemon juice, elderflower liquor and a dash of Absinth has been created by Harvey Nichols bar manager Matthew Fairhurst to support the Forever Manchester charity campaign and has been designed as the ultimate Mancunian beverage.
On the night the jet set mingled with the fashion fix as a catwalk show got underway. Models were supplied by Manchester agency Boss Model Management and the Forever Manchester t-shirts were styled with clothing from Harvey Nichols. The models also had their hair coiffed by Urban Retreat and their make-up expertly applied by Laura Mercier.
Profits from both the t-shirt and the cocktail, which costs £8.50, will be used to support Forever Manchester, a fundraising initiative from The Community Foundation for Greater Manchester that is working to make the region a better place to live by supporting grassroots community projects.
The musical backdrop was provided by Anna Greenwood, DJ from Guilty Pleasures, one of the city’s best nights at The Deaf Institute.
Nick Massey, chief executive of The Community Foundation said: “The Forever Manchester campaign is about celebrating all those things which make the city such a great place to be.
“We want to target a new generation of 21st century philanthropists, which is why it’s great that Harvey Nichols have created the Forever Manchester cocktail, bringing our message to a new audience.”
