FUNDRAISERS had a quacking time when they raced toy ducks down a river for charity.
The 15th annual charity duck race, organised by Turton Rotary Club, raised more than £11,500.
Hundreds of plastic yellow ducks were plopped into Bradshaw Brook in three heats as they raced along a 300-yard course at Bradshaw Cricket Club in Bradshaw Road.
Heat winners battled it out in the final which Daniel Simm won to claim the £1,000 first prize.
Mr Simm, who lives in London, was visiting his parents in Bolton when he entered Sunday’s race.
The money raised was divided between more than 40 charities, including Bolton Lads and Girls Club, Bolton Samaritans, MedEquip4Kids, Winter Watch and Derian House children’s hospice.
Race promoter Jim Turner said: “It went extremely well. It’s become a big event, and over 15 years it’s something people have come to know and we seem to get better support each year.”
