POLICE have released dramatic CCTV footage which shows the moment a shotgun was fired at a Bolton takeaway.
The film shows a gunman running up to the Al-Noor Keema Naan in Derby Street, Daubhill, and opening fire at the shop shutters.
The front of the shop was damaged and ammunition compatible with a shotgun was found shortly after the attack at around 11.30pm on Wednesday, May 20.
No offenders were seen, though one witness noticed a silver car driving away shortly after the noise.
Detective Sergeant Nick Haigh, from the Major Incident Team, said: "We hope this footage will jog people's memories.
"The pictures show that there was a bus driving by shortly before the shots were fired. Maybe you were on that bus that wet night and saw two men on the other side of the road acting suspiciously.
"We can see that this was a deliberate, planned attempt to cause fear, and whether anyone was nearby or not, lives were in danger.”
He added: "There is no place for guns on the streets of Greater Manchester, and we will work hard to ensure that people's lives are not put in danger."
