RADCLIFFE darts ace Les Fitton is on course to face Premier League star Wayne Mardle in the second round of the UK Open at the Reebok.
However, Fitton, who reached the last 32 of the competition in 2003 and 2004, will first have to overcome Mark Cox in the first round.
The competition, nicknamed the “FA Cup of darts”, kicks off on Thursday June 4 and last year’s beaten finalist, Bolton-born American Gary Mawson, will face Doncaster qualifier Darren Weaver. Walkden ace Matt Clark has a tough test against Alex Roy or former world champion Richie Burnett. The big guns enter at the third round stage.
