STEVE Priestley caused a splash when he netted a 21 pound 12 ounce pike.
The Deane fisherman, who fishes all over the country for big carp or pike, landed the catch of the day at Borrick Fishery in Morcambe.
In other angling news, a barrier has been placed on the road to Cartwheel Lodge by the council. Permits are available through Elton Tackle, Fisherman’s Way and Glazebrook Angling on production of membership cards.

Northwest Disabled Anglers are holding a fundraising match for the national team at Partridge Lakes, Culcheth, near Warrington, on May 25. Tickets are £20 per man. Four section prizes. Total of £1,000 payout plus barbeque after the match.

Prestwich and Macey’s AC Gorsty Hall: 1. Jason Cornick 17lb 8oz. 2. Jim Holland 17lb1oz. 3. Barry Halliwell with 16lb 8oz. All fished poles with varied baits.
