EVERYONE is wearing a denim jacket. Stars Alexa Chung and Nicole Richie, and model and socialite Alice Dellal have all been spotted out in them as the weather warms up.
We’ve picked the best from the high street so you can finally ditch the winter coats and layer up with denim.
First up is this indigo jacket for £39.99 from River Island. Keep the trend up-to-date by rolling up the sleeves and keeping the jacket open for laid back living. We love the structure to the jacket, keeping it smart yet practical and the turned up collar adds a rock edge to the outfit.
The dress comes in at £54.99 and ticks all the boxes with the floral pattern, the pencil skirt and the ra-ra ruffles.
If you fancy a cropped style then this one from New Look is one of the best examples on the high street. This one is best worn closed as it will give you a more fitted shape. Coming in at £25 it won’t break the bank. Wear this cow-girl style with trilby, £8 and check shirt, £25.
If you’ve got a little bit more to spend then head to French Connection for this sleeveless version — a more unique take on the trend.
It’s at the high end of the budget at £80 but if you’re after a statement piece of denim then this is for you. We love the double breasted element and the string is very sailor-esque.
Wear with stripy long sleeved t-shirt underneath and smart trousers or go for white linen for a dressed down look.
If you would like a classic design then try this one from Dorothy Perkins at £30. It can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the occasion. Wear over a little black dress for a night out or with loose fitting trousers and a tight t-shirt.
Top tip: We have not seen any denim on denim this year so simply don’t do it. It’s not a good look. A jacket is the best way to work it so roll up your sleeves and give it a go.
