AT the end of the Bolton Table tennis League programme the champions of Division one, two, three and four have been decided. The exception is the Premier Division where a small number of matches have still to be played.
Ramsbottom A, jump to top spot in the Premier Division after winning 9-0 at Little Lever B, and a 6-3 victory over Radcliffe CC whose Nigel Hallows was unbeaten.
The Rammy team, who have two matches to play, look certain to retain their title. They are four points ahead of Hilton B in second place who have one match to play. Hilton’s 6-3 win over Wharton featured a treble by Ron Pennington.
Burning Desire B are the Division One champions after a 7-2 win at bottom team Nomads B, with three wins by Ian Quinn and two apiece by Dave Smith and Ben Armstrong.
Winners of Division Two are Ramsbottom D, with a five point advantage over Meadow Bank in second place. They won a close match with Heaton E 5-4, Chris Leaves and Paul Wood each winning two and Roger Whewell one.
Division Three champions are the unbeaten Coburg, they finished 19 points ahead of Ladybridge B in second place. This week their three players Bob Bent, Mark Speakman and George Mather scored maximum points against BEN A.
