Imagine a world without foundation marks on your jawline! A world where your concealer matches your skin tone and not one other lip gloss ladened lady has the same colour as you.
Prescriptives’s new custom blend service can give you all this, and more.
In the north it is exclusive to House of Fraser in Manchester and it certainly exceeds expectations.
Book in for an appointment and a specially trained analyst will match a foundation, pressed powder or concealer to your skin tone. According to the pigments in your skin she will pick a base shade and then add your own variations. For example an oil control ingredient, a moisturiser, clarifier or skin brightener. You can pick your own coverage — sheer, medium or full. You can then add a finish — matte, luminous, with golden tones or pinky tones. There are hundreds of combinations.
It’s not cheap! A 30ml liquid foundation (including a 10ml travel size) will set you back £45. It’s worth it though if you have troublesome skin or if you’re a man who likes to cover up — they can match make-up for you too. The consultation is free but when they start blending you are committed to buying.
Now for the fun bit — the lip gloss. More reasonably priced at £19.50 for 11ml. I asked for ‘Cheryl Cole pink’, with a fuscia base, a hot pink extender — for stay-put colour, a high gloss shimmer and berry flavour. You can choose a range of colours, finishes and the flavours include tropical, melon, latte, bellini, vanilla, meringue (really!) and icy mint.
If you can’t afford to splash out then why not buy something as a present — book a friend in for an appointment and let him/her go wild. For stockists call 0870 034 2566.
