EVEN those who now live in the area pictured here might not at first recognise it.
But this 1934 aerial photograph of Lostock was taken “from a point over Prospect House in Tempest Road, Lostock, which joins Junction Road in the centre of the picture”.
Beyond are the mills of Messrs W Heaton and Sons Ltd. Lostock Station is left of the mills.
In the background is Beaumont Road. In the foreground on the left are the old Industrial School buildings, now the Lostock Open Air School, with the new school premises on the right.
