MORE than 1,000 desperate job-seekers fought for just 60 new positions at a town centre clothes store.
The vacancies were created at the revamped Primark in Crompton Place Shopping Centre.
Most of the positions advertised were for store assistants and bosses were amazed when they received 17 applications for every job.
