PREMIER Division leaders Ramsbottom A scored maximum points in their Bolton League clash with bottom team Heaton A, giving them a nine-point advantage over Hilton B in second spot.
Hilton, who have a match in hand, beat Little Lever A 6-3 thanks to three wins by Ron Pennington and Andy Michnoweic.
Burning Desire A, in third place, were 7-2 winners at Little Lever B, with trebles from Lyndsey Reynolds and Paul Cicchelli and one win from Reena Ardeshana. Nigel Hallows trebled for Radcliffe CC in their 6-3 win over Hilton A and three players scored two wins in the match in which Wharton beat Ramsbottom B 5-4.
Top team in Division One, Ramsbottom C, went down to only their third defeat of the season 5-4 at Hilton D. Lee Davenport and John Cartledge each won two and Brett Haslam one for Hilton, with Graham Young winning two and Martin Holt and Tommy Ryan one each for Ramsbottom.
Burning Desire B, in second place, scored a 6-3 win against a two-man Little Lever team, leaving them nine points adrift of Ramsbottom with a match in hand.
Withins were 6-3 winners against Nomads with three wins from Stuart Wallis and Paul Brandwood. Three wins by Allan Tomlinson and two by Dave Andrews gave Hilton C their 5-4 win over Heaton B.
John Bradbury was unbeaten for Wingates who scraped home 5-4 against Heaton C, and Alan Cowley’s treble helped Heaton D to a 6-3 win over Ladybridge.
Ramsbottom D consolidated their position at the top of Division Two with a 7-2 win at BEN A, giving them an eight-point advantage over Meadow Bank.
The win featured three wins by Paul Wood and two each by Chris Leaves and Martin Ormsby.
Meadow Bank scraped home 5-4 against Meadow Hill thanks to three wins by Paul Pover.
A treble by Gary Hilton plus a brace from Tony Eardley gave Hilton E their 5-4 win over Farnworth SC A.
Bottom team Hilton Tigers scored their third win of the season against Withins. The 7-2 victory featured three wins by Rob Hall and two each by Chris Naylor and Marek Maraszkiewicz. Stuart McCaig winning the two sets for Withins.
Mike Dunn trebled for Heaton F in their 5-4 win against Little Lever D. Hilton F won 5-4 at Heaton E in a match which featured two wins by four players.
The two front runners in Division Three Coburg and Ladybridge B both scored comprehensive wins. Coburg scored maximum points against Withins and Ladybridge, beating BEN B 8-1, which gives them a four-point advantage at the top of the table.
Meadow Hill won 6-3 at Hilton H, and followed that up with a 9-0 victory over Ladybridge C. Their three players, Harvey Tench, John Riley and Roy Platt, all trebled against Ladybridge and won two each at Hilton. Jim Eardley was unbeaten for Hilton H who won 6-3 at Walkden Meths, as was John Rothwell for Farnworth Sc B who beat Hilton I by the same score.
