IT was smiling faces all around for the children of St Germain Nursery School in Farnworth when they raised £50 for the RSPCA.
In May, 1981, the youngsters, aged between three and five, raised the money in 10 days by taking home books, with animal pictures supplied by the RSPCA, and selling the pictures to family and friends. This picture shows Mrs Lomax, of the RSPCA, receiving the cheque, with a stuffed gannet loaned to the nursery by Bolton Museum to give the children an idea of the kind of creature the RSPCA tries to help.
