THE Bolton News had a guest editor for the day when Richard Edmond dropped into the newsroom.
The 15-year-old Bolton School pupil won the chance to shape the news agenda when his mum paid for the prize in an auction in aid of the Bolton Lads and Girls Club.
Richard spent the morning with news editor James Higgins before observing a session at Bolton Magistrates’ Court with a senior reporter.
He then got the chance to interview the family of a lady celebrating her 100th birthday.
His day was rounded off with a question and answer session with the editor-in-chief of The Bolton News, Ian Savage.
Mr Savage said: “Richard was inquisitive and clearly interested in newspapers. If he becomes a journalist, I am sure he will do well.”
