PLANNING bosses will next week decide the future of a controversial multi-million-pound “peace centre” set to be built in an affluent area of Bolton.
The centre would be the first of its kind in the UK and, if built, would receive 15,000 visitors a year.
But residents living close to the proposed site off Old Hall Lane, Lostock, are strongly against the idea.
They say the centre should not be built on green-belt land and fear that it will cause traffic chaos.
The project is being funded by multi-faith group United Religions Initiative UK.
Bolton Council has received 33 objections to the plans from residents.
A decision will be made next Thursday.
