Bolton’s Market Hall brought a festive touch to the stalls for the Christmas of 1966.
As our picture shows there were tinsel decorations and Christmas trees at the entrance doors.
However, the Bolton Evening News reported that plans to brighten the town centre around Bradshawgate, Deansgate, Oxford Street, Newport Street and Great Moor Street fell through, to the annoyance of the Chamber of Trade, because shopkeepers were reluctant to foot the bill.
