A NEW play area was opened yesterday marking a milestone in Bolton Council’s play facility revamp programme.
The Daisy Hill playground in St James Street, Daisy Hill, was the 25th play area to be built or remodelled since the five-year initiative was launched in 2006.
The council has spent £100,000 on state-of-the-art play equipment at the site, including swings, slides, see-saws and roundabouts.
There is even a custom-built “trike track” for toddlers to ride their bikes safely.
Cllr Elaine Sherrington, executive member for Cleaner Greener, who attended the event, said: “This is more proof that the council’s investment in outdoor play facilities for children in Bolton is delivering tangible benefits for local communities.
“I hope the families who joined us to celebrate the opening enjoyed the free festive fun.”
