Long-distance rail passengers heading north from Bolton could face delays when the new timetable clicks in on Sunday, according to a report today.
The head of Network Rail has admitted West Coast Rail passengers travelling through Cumbria could face travel disruptions.
Iain Coucher said he could not guarantee a full service to commuters despite the completion of £8.8bn of engineering works.
He said there could be problems when the new timetable begins on Sunday.
