PRIMARY school children performed a nativity play with a twist — it featured a fed-up snowman.
Pupils at St George’s Primary, in Daisy Hill, performed the play for parents and staff this week.
The show, called The Disgruntled Snowman, follows a traditional theme, but includes a snowman who gets angry.
This is because he is constantly disturbed by people travelling to Bethlehem, where Jesus was born, and because his nose gets eaten by a donkey.
Eighty children took part in the shows yesterday afternoon and evening.
Seven-year-old Max Kenny starred as the snowman, Mary was played by Romana Booth, aged seven, and Damon Walsh, aged seven, took on the role of Joseph.
Headteacher Catherine Foster said: “The children all worked really hard and the performances went very well. The parents said it was a beautiful play.”
Youngsters from years one and two are pictured on stage.
