This classic fairy tale offered traditional pantomime fun with a 21st century twist.
This version of Snow White, directed by Ian Taylor, had the audience in stitches throughout the show.
Youngsters got in on the action, shouting typical panto lines such as “he’s behind you” as the actors pretended they didn’t know what was happening on the stage.
The story followed the well-known tale of Snow White, as the evil Queen tries to kill the princess with a poisoned apple and seven dwarfs help to save her.
But this version had mentions of Facebook, the credit crunch and the congestion charge.
Andrew Sutton, who played Dozy, was, in fact, well over 6ft tall and entertained the audience with an amusing dance to the Village People’s song, YMCA.
Chuckles, played by Paul Beardsworth, and Edna Bucket, played by Garth Waddup, regularly appeared on stage and told jokes which made the audience laugh.
Near the end of the show, Chuckles started to sing the Winner’s Song by Geraldine McQueen — Peter Kay’s alter ego.
Musical director Martin Taylor, who played the piano, did a great job.
There were also some surprises in store as fireworks went off on stage as the prince kissed Snow White and she came back to life.
And in true panto style, it ended with an audience singalong and children in the audience were invited on to the stage to join in.
