YOUNGSTERS from a church and the primary section of Bolton School have handed over lots of toys to the Caring Christmas appeal.
Children from Christ Church, Heaton, and Bolton School’s Beech House were delighted to donate cuddly toys, games and gifts for less fortunate children — and members of Bolton Lions, who run the appeal in conjunction with The Bolton News, were happy to collect them.
All the presents will be gratefully received by the hundreds of families we help each Christmas.
Christ Church organised a toy service and donated a range of gifts to the appeal and presents have been pouring in to The Bolton News offices.
Lion Bill Laithwaite said: “We are very grateful to everyone who buys the presents for our appeal. We always get a wonderful response from Beech House and this year’s gifts are very much appreciated.”
But more presents and cash are still needed to help the many children who, without our help, would face a miserable Christmas.
Cheques will help Bolton Lions to buy much needed gifts — they should be made out to Bolton Lions and sent to The Features Department at The Bolton News.
Presents can be placed in the collection box in our front office or at any one of the collection venues listed below.
Christmas is getting nearer and we still need more presents, particularly gifts for teenagers.
When you are doing your Christmas shopping, why not pop an extra gift into your trolley and donate it to the appeal?
Teenage boys like Andrew would love anything sport related and a pretty scarf would be perfect for girls like Lucy.
Don’t let it get to Christmas Day without donating a present, however small, to our appeal and know your generosity will be much appreciated.
Larger items can be collected by one of the Lions. See the contact details below.
