A pensioner is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car in a Bolton street.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the woman, aged 76, was hit by a Vauxhall Astra near the Post Office on Rishton Lane at its junction with Green Lane shortly before 5.15pm on Friday.
The woman was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital for treatment to a broken leg and remains in a serious condition.
Police Constable Steve McQuade, from the Road Policing Unit, said: "The woman suffered serious injuries as a result of this collision.
"The area would have no doubt been fairly busy and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward."
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Road Policing Unit on 0161 856 7362, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
