EMERGENCY services were called when a man fell into a water tank at Leigh Water Treatment Works.
The incident in Mather Lane, Leigh, happened at 1.30pm on Tuesday. Fire crews were called but the man was out of the water by the time they arrived.
Watch commander Tony Callaghan said: “It looks as if flooring covering the tank gave way. I’m not sure if he pulled himself out or if his colleagues got him out.
“The man was shaken by the incident and very cold. Paramedics were also on the scene.”
