EBI Smolarek and Riga are expected to figure in a strong line-up when Wanderers Reserves return to the Reebok Stadium on Wednesday night.
The second team take on Liverpool in the Barclays Premier Reserve League North in the first outing for Alan Cork’s side for two weeks following the postponement of last week’s fixture at Middlesbrough.
The match gives Smolarek a chance to get in some match action as he looks to break into the first-team starting line-up. The striker has come off the bench in the last 10 minutes of three of the last four Premier League matches.
Riga has been an unused substitute for the last three games and tonight’s match will give him some vital match practice.
The match, which has been switched from the usual reserve team home venue at the County Ground in Leyland, kicks off at 7pm, £3 adults, £1 concessions, season ticket holders free.
