YOUNG Einsteins are being invited to explore the wonders of science using the latest hi-tech equipment.
The pioneering Technical Innovation Centre in Farnworth, has been re-launched as the Bolton Science and Technology Centre and is run by the local authority, which will invest £300,000 a year.
Education chiefs are urging school children to take advantage of the centre, the only one of its kind in the country.
Cllr Ebrahim Adia, Bolton Council’s executive member for children’s services, said: “The Science and Technology Centre is a fantastic resource, which we are fortunate to have here in Bolton. Teachers and children alike can’t fail to be impressed by the facilities.
“I would urge any primary or secondary school teachers of science, technology, engineering and maths subjects to arrange a visit at the next available opportunity.”
The centre opened in 2004 with £2.3 million funding from the North West Development Agency.
It is the UK’s first “junior incubator”, a cross between a research laboratory, school, training centre and factory.
