A HOSPICE is asking people to dig deep over the festive period and donate £5 towards the care of terminally ill patients.
St Ann’s Hospice in Peel Lane, Little Hulton, has launched a new campaign “Every day makes a difference,” in a bid to boost donations over the festive period.
Coronation Street star Sue Nicholls, who plays Audrey Roberts in the TV soap, has given her backing to the campaign.
She said: “St Ann’s provides all their care free of charge and looks after over 3,000 people every year in the hospice and in people’s homes.
“At a time when we are all enjoying the festivities, I would urge people to think about making a small gift that really matters. A donation of £5 will really help St Ann’s provide such essential care.”
Catherine Williams, director of fundraising and communications, said: “We are asking the general public to give a gift that matters — and £5 is all it takes to do something that will make a big difference to our patients and their families this Christmas.”
