Bolton School launched its new golfing facilities to a large audience of young golfers, parents and guests last week.
The Woodford Group have provided the funds to purchase the equipment, which, it is hoped, will be used by other schools in the town to encourage young golfers.
Old boy of Bolton School Andrew ‘Chubby’ Chandler, who hails from Horwich, and is now a leading figure in the management of a number of top golfing stars, was invited to the official opening along with Lloyd Booker, managing director of Bobby Jones Clothing range, who co-hosted the event.
On the day a variety of activities were held including a golf simulator, putting competition and numerous trade stands.
Guy Lovegreen, the master in charge of golf, said: “These new facilities are superb and I hope it will improve the overall golf quality of the school.”
