A BAKERY van driver has been charged with theft after claiming he was the victim of a robbery.
David Scanlon, aged 25, told police he was bundled into the back of his van by two robbers while parked in Lower Street, Radcliffe, at about 11.50am on Friday November 28.
But Scanlon, of Winster Avenue, Salford, has now been charged with theft and making a false statement.
He is due to appear at Bury Magistrates Court on December 17.
