A DARTS match is being held in aid of a firefighter who was seriously injured when he tried to rescue a family from their arson-hit home.
The Halliwell Central Reform Club, in Brownlow Way, is hosting the match on Wednesday, December 17, at 7pm. Daz Fitton, Tony ‘O’Shea, Steve Coote, and John Walton will be playing to raise cash for the Steve Morris fund.
Mr Morris suffered 50 per cent burns when he entered the house in Little Holme Walk, in Great Lever, on June 23.
He is recovering from his injuries at Wythenshawe Hospital’s specialist burns unit.
Grandmother Hameeda Begum, aged 71, and four-year-old Alana Mian lost their lives in the blaze. Alana’s mum, Saima, aged 24, was also seriously injured in the blaze.
