A man and a woman have been charged after customers tackled an armed robber in a Bolton bar.
Police were called to the Firefly on Chorley New Road just after 3am on Saturday following reports of the robbery.
Minutes later one of the customers called again to say that a man with a machete had been detained.
Some of the people who detained the man were cut during the struggle, but their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Michael Cox, aged 26, of Church Road, Bolton, has been charged with attempted armed robbery, drink driving, four counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.
Angela Littler, aged 31, of Beverley Road, Heaton has been charged with the same offences. Both are due to appear before magistrates in Bolton today.
