In the fanzone before the game there were mixed views as to how the Wanderers would perform against Chelsea.
Could we continue our good string of results and upset the odds and beat Chelsea, or would we revert back to how we’d played before Novmeber.
In the end, it was a hard fought peformance by the Wanderers who were beaten by a better side, but that is no discredit to the Super Whites. They gave everything they could.
If they had a little more luck, they easliy could have been given one of the two penalty shouts, or put away one of the few chances they had. It is no disrespect to lose to a side like Chelsea. That being said, it was disappointing to see Chelsea revert to some pathetic dislays off the ball.
Stand up Mr Bosingwa. Sorry, you can’t because you’re flopping about like a fish out of water after McCann’s late challenge.
An Oscar would be on it’s way to you if it weren’t for Loft the Lion's excellent mimic of you in front of the East Stand shortly afterwards. Okay then, how about Mr Ballack? Sadly Mr Ballack was too busy burning the ref’s ear off complaining, which he did for the entire game.
All in all it was a good performance from the Wanderers.
A couple of defensive mistakes cost us the goals, but it was good to see the manager make an offensive change at half-time with the inclusion of Gardner at the expense of Muamba.
A few weeks ago a substitution would only seem to take place after the 89th minute. There’s still a long way to go with this season, but things in the last few weeks are certainly looking up!
