PROUD parents listened to a special festive treat at Canon Slade School when an orchestral Christmas concert was staged.
Bolton Youth Orchestra and Bolton Junior Youth Orchestra played in the Millennium Chapel at the school in Bradshaw Brow.
The event was one of a series being put on by Bolton Music Service at venues across the borough.
They included a Choral Studies Christmas Concert at Victoria Hall on Saturday and an awards concert at the Last Drop Village on Sunday.
The Police Carol Service takes place from 7.30pm tonight at Bolton Parish Church and Bolton Youth Brass Band are playing at Walmsley Parish Hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm.
Bolton Youth Orchestra has been something of an institution in town since 1943.
It was one of the earliest youth orchestras and few have survived so long.
