PUPILS at Turton School are learning to develop a taste for all things healthy.

Year seven pupils at the Bromley Cross school went off timetable to take part in Health Day.

Lessons learned included how to stay safe and how healthy food can be tasty food.

Youngsters took part in a various activities,including food-tasting sessions.

Bolton’s Healthy Schools teams, made up of various agencies including the youth services, The Parallel Centre and Teenager Pregnancy Teams, staged a number workshops to help young people deal with the pressures of being a teenager.

Lyndsay Outterside, the school’s personal, social and health co-ordinator, who organised the day, said: “Turton has been awarded Healthy Schools Status by the Department of Health and the Department for Children, Schools and Families.

“We are committed to nurturing the personal development of all its students.”
